Joining the Group

The Group is open to all theatre support staff in education (with certain conditions); primarily theatre technicians, designers and managers working in schools or colleges. You must be over-18 and employed by an educational organisation. We welcome members from all sectors of education.

Membership is also available at the committee's discretion for those who have a proven interest in the Group but do not fulfil the criteria above, such as independent consultants and freelancers who work regularly in schools, or teachers who have responsibility for the technical/management side of things without a dedicated in-house technician. We also welcome corporate support, but unfortunately cannot offer corporate membership due to data protection requirements, so please enquire for further details.

Membership is £5 per year. This fee is principally intended to cover administration costs, but members also receive a biannual newsletter, access to our online forum and membership database, free or subsidised Group visits and meetings, plus any special offers we're able to offer on training and services. Membership subs are invoiced annually and can be paid by cheque or BACS, either personally or by your school.

All NEW members can join for FREE and become a full-member automatically for the first year until renewal. Renewal is in January (regardless of when you join), at which time we hope you will decide to remain as a full-member (at £5).

Please also read our Group Constitution, which forms the terms and conditions of membership. The committee reserves the right to refuse membership, and to ask for a reference from your employer.  The details you give us are submitted and stored securely.
